How On Ideas Helped DeVry University Graduate

DeVry University and its Keller Graduate School of Management represent one of the largest degree-granting higher education systems in North America. More than 57,000 students are enrolled at its 89 locations in 26 states and Canada, as well as through DeVry University Online.

In January 2007, On Ideas was awarded a three-month contract to help build awareness about DeVry’s new Jacksonville, Florida location. A public relations plan was developed to include local media outreach, event planning for the location’s grand opening and employer relations.

Initially, an extensive media outreach program announcing the new location garnered multiple media hits, including a feature article with photos in the Florida Times-Union, northeast Florida’s largest daily newspaper. In addition, On Ideas worked to co-produce a grand opening event, and helped to secure a high profile guest speaker for that event.

Meetings with local employers, including Winn-Dixie – one of the area's largest – were facilitated by On Ideas to allow DeVry to introduce its degree program offerings and career services program. With a traditionally large, adult student population, DeVry needed to get to know major employers in the area in order to secure their comfort with the school’s credentials and build its student enrollment.

Following the completion of the original contract, On Ideas was awarded several contract extensions and continues to assist DeVry in Jacksonville and now, the university’s Tampa East location as well.
