How On Ideas Helped Mobility Products Keep the Promise

A majority of our elderly are familiar with powered wheelchairs, though many had grown fearful of even investigating the possibility of owning one due to revised Medicare eligibility requirements; newly stringent requirements that must be met in order to receive a power chair through their insurance. And not many who need a power chair can afford such a product without reimbursement.

On Ideas was selected to communicate with an audience of seniors 70+ in an effort to separate Mobility Products Unlimited from its competitors while lowering Mobility’s average cost-per-call. The home medical equipment industry as a whole had taken a big hit from Medicare’s tightening of reimbursements, and because of this new reality sweeping adjustments had to be made to recoup the company’s loss of income.

On Ideas understood the crisis and suggested it was time for Mobility Products to comfort their current and potential customer base through a multi-media campaign (Internet, DRTV and Direct Mail) that highlighted the company’s longevity, reliability and dedication to The Mobility Promise™:  If you qualify for a power chair and Medicare/private insurance won’t cover it, we will get you that chair at little or no cost to you.

Our client evaluates the ongoing campaign regularly and on average, the cost-per-call has been reduced—significantly—and those calls just keep on coming. Our measured (literally) approach to a sensitive subject matter with a tricky target audience has resulted in a resounding success for Mobility Products in a fast-changing industry environment.

And that’s a promise.
