As a summa cum laude graduate of the University of North Florida, Kyle couldn’t escape the campus as quickly as his rather less distinguished classmates. On his way to the outside world—his duffle bag stuffed with a student’s obligatory dirty laundry—Kyle was tackled by his Fine Art professors and drafted as a Managing Teaching Assistant.
So a few days after listening to his final lecture, he himself was charged with researching and giving them.
From there he was recruited by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection as a Senior Graphic Designer, and in the positions that followed has worked with a wide variety of clients in all media forms. Today, Mr. Nolan is the lynchpin of the On Ideas graphics studio and a central contributor to our Interactive Department.
At times, however, Kyle is still prone to giving the occasional lecture. But at least his laundry is finally done. Is there a great client story you’d care to share? Nope, I’m an only child and don’t share well. Do you have a method for coming up with ideas and solutions for clients? Sure, it’s called thinking. After I finish thinking, then I ponder. After I ponder, I imagine, after I imagine I dream and after I dream, I wake up and realize that the assignment is due tomorrow and it had better be great. What makes a great brand? The ability to be recognized, considered, and respected in a sea of competition that, for advertisers these days, provides no lifeboat.
